ðRug cleaning and maintenance tips:
1. Vacuum the rug regularly to prevent dust buildup. Regular vacuuming helps keep your home clean and reduces allergens. To thoroughly remove dust, flip the rug over and vacuum the back. 2. Blot spills dry with a 100% cotton white towel. For wet spills, place the towel over the spill, then step on the towel and move it around to allow the dry towel to absorb the spill. When blotting, blot in a straight line, not in circles. Rubbing in circles will damage the rug.
3. For most stains, a general cleaner is sufficient. A damp white towel works best. For fresh pet urine stains, use a mixture of 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water for blotting. For red wine stains, use equal parts Dawn dish soap and 10% hydrogen peroxide. Always test in an inconspicuous area first to ensure the rug won't fade or change color.
4. Hire a professional rug cleaner. Regular vacuuming and spot cleaning will keep your rug clean, but professional cleaning once or twice a year will make your rug and indoor air healthier.
